LONDON - An obscure actress by the name of Camilla Luddington has reportedly been chosen to play Kate Middleton for a US made-for-TV movie about the upcoming royal wedding.
She has previously had minor roles in American shows including Days Of Our Lives and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
The 27-year-old British actress will star in the television film about the royal romance being made by US TV network Lifetime, reports the Daily Mail.
The production, which will be called William and Kate, will be broadcast around the time of the royal wedding on April 29.
Sources say the role of William will be played by New Zealand-born actor Nico Evers Swindell, while Veteran British actor Ben Cross has been lined up to play the Prince of Wales.
“The film chronicles the history of William and Kate - from the moment the two students met at Scotland’s prestigious University of St Andrews,” according to the synopsis of the movie.
Managing director, Jens Richter, said, “William and Kate tells the story of how these two young people overcame the many obstacles to their courtship and found lasting love.”
“With this touching story in the hands of Frank Konigsberg, one of the best TV producers in the business, we are proud to offer this year’s most moving television event,” he added. (ANI)
