NEW YORK - After blaming her parents last November for ruining her childhood by forcing her to work as a young child, Taylor Momsen is now singing a different tune to clarify the comments.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star has now claimed that her statements were blown out of proportion by the media.

In a new interview with Kerrang magazine, she cleared the air saying she loves her parents and revealed that they felt ‘horrible’ after reading the article, reports the New York Daily News.

“Maybe I didn’t have the childhood people think you should have, but I still went through the ages,” said Momsen, according to UsMagazine.com.

“I was still a child. Maybe it wasn’t a conventional one, but you know… I like where I am now, so it’s ok,” she added.

Momsen went on to rant about the media and the rumours that come with fame.

“I think my parents have learned by this point that none of [what is printed] is probably true, and words can be put in your mouth,” she told the mag.

In an earlier interview, The Pretty Reckless’ front woman had blasted her parents for pushing her into the business at such an early age.

“My parents signed me up with Ford [modelling agency] at the age of 2. No 2-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice,” she had then said.

Momsen, 17, went on to note how she was always ‘in and out of school’ and ‘didn’t have friends [or] a real life’. (ANI)
