LONDON - Hard rock band Bon Jovi has topped Billboard’s annual tours chart once again, making it twice in three years.
Billboard magazine revealed they were the most successful live act of the year earning up to 146.5 million dollars from 1,591,154 tickets sold in 69 gigs as part of their The Circle tour between November 2009 and November 2010.
Bon Jovi was also the highest-grossing live act of 2008, having taken 210 million dollars on its Lost Highway tour.
They have now become the only third act to top Billboard’s annual tours chart twice in three years.
Jon Bon Jovi, 48, said he was “very proud” of the band’s achievement and said Irish band U2 - beaten to second place in the chart - must be “paying attention”.
“It doesn’t mean anything to the public. But in the industry, all your peers are going to look at it,” the BBC quoted him as saying. (ANI)
