MJ gets his own Cirque Du Soleil show - ‘The Immortal World Tour’

LONDON - Late Michael Jackson will be getting his own Cirque Du Soleil show, with his ‘The Immortal World Tour’ set to open in Canada next October.

The show will combine Jackson’s music and choreography with the signature acrobatics of the popular circus troupe.amie King, a choreographer and stage director will be directing the production, which will tour 27 U.S. and Canadian cities, and he said the whole show will only be about Jackson.

“Everything Michael. Michael’s love of fairy tale, his love of magic and theatricality, his love of music, his love of animals, his love of showmanship,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.

He also said that Jackson’s former Neverland home will provide the ‘environment’ for the show.

But the Immortal World Tour will be a little different to other Cirque Du Soleil productions based on pop music acts such as Love and Viva Elvis.

“The idea was to bring Michael to the fans and create the feeling of his concerts in an arena setting,” John Branca, co-executor of the Jackson estate, said.

“Cirque has not done a show with Elvis or the Beatles or any other historic rock ‘n’ roll icon that has gone into arenas and toured North America or the world, so it was exciting to be able to do something that had not been done before,” he added. (ANI)
