LONDON - Sir Cliff Richard has revealed the secret behind his slim physique.

The singer, who turns 70 next Thursday, has revealed that he is ‘obsessed’ with his looks and follows a bizarre diet that helps him stay slim.

Sir Cliff, who last month showed off his toned figure in a photoshoot for his latest calendar, has attributed his appearance to the Blood Group diet.

Developed by Dr Peter D’Adamo in 1997, it advises followers to eat only certain foods based on their blood type.

Sir Cliff, who is blood type A, has cut out red meat and dairy products as well as lobster, crab, prawns, wheat, potatoes, tomatoes, mangoes, papaya, bananas and aubergines.

He can eat protein such as turkey and chicken and carbohydrates, such as rice, but has stopped drinking orange juice.

“I can’t eat red meat, one thing I do miss, but there’s a lot I can eat - chicken, fish, turkey - and I’ve developed a liking for soya milk, especially if it’s flavoured,” The Daily Mail quoted him as telling told Saga magazine.

The 5ft 10in star weighs 10st 10oz and has a 30-inch waist, the same size as he did 30 years ago. (ANI)
