STEVIE WONDER’s fashion designer wife has shut down her clothing line amid allegations company bosses owe debts to a string of creditors.

Kai Milla’s self-titled women’s collection debuted in 2005 and proved a hit with critics and fashion lovers alike, with fans including U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, who donned a sleeveless green dress from the brand in February last year (09).

But production on Milla’s latest line was discontinued earlier this year (10) and the firm has gone out of business, according to the New York Post’s Page Six column.

And the designer is reportedly being chased to settle her company’s debts.

A source tells the newspaper, “The company has left many creditors coming after her to be paid for time, service and materials.

“Modelling agencies, production crews, design assistants, pattern makers, office and store landlords have all been trying to contact her office in Los Angeles and New York for months for payment.”

Milla has yet to comment on the claims.
