Brosnan ‘mamma Mia! Sequel Is No More’

PIERCE BROSNAN has given up hope for a sequel to hit movie musical MAMMA MIA! after revealing plans to film a follow-up have fallen through.
The former James Bond actor teamed up with Meryl Streep and Colin Firth for the 2008 blockbuster and movie producers were reportedly keen to cash in on its popularity with a second installment.
Last year (09) Streep admitted she was doubtful plans for a sequel would ever come into fruition, saying, “I heard that they were talking about it, but I am not sure it’s real.”
And now Brosnan appears to have lost interest.
Asked by EmpireOnline.com for an update on Mamma Mia! 2, Brosnan says, “No, I don’t think that’s happening.”
The movie grossed more than $573 million (£358 million) across the globe upon its release in 2008.
