Helen Mirren worked as a waitress in real life

LONDON - Actress Dame Helen Mirren has confessed that she could relate to her latest film role as a teashop worker in Brighton because in real life too she has worked as a waitress in the town.

The Queen actress stars in Brighton Rock, which depicts clashes between the mods and rockers in the 1960s.

“My auntie had a bed and breakfast in Brighton, so actually when I was about 16 I worked as a waitress in her bed and breakfast serving the breakfast,” the Mirror quoted her assaying at the movie’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

“I worked as a waitress in Brighton, funnily enough now I’m running a tea shop in the film, ” she added. (ANI)
