MELBOURNE - Burlesque starlet Dita Von Teese says that she has no problem with the word stripper.

“Having worked in strip clubs and getting my start there and that being my original audience, I have no problem with the word stripper,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

“I don’t like to tell everyone that what I do is different to stripping. It is one of the origins of striptease and began in America on the stages in burlesque theatres.

“I stand by what I do and I believe what I do is good and entertaining, and when people see my show I get great reviews across the board. I can’t be bothered worrying what every person thinks.

“I’ve always used what I’ve got to my best advantage and that’s really the message I’m trying to get across to other women.

“You can be whoever you want to be, and you can do it yourself and build your own glamorous world,” she added. (ANI)
