“Breaking Bad” Stars Win Emmy

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday saw the biggest American TV stars coming together for a night of comedy, drama and deserving recognition. Host Jimmy Fallon set the theme for the evening by opening with a pre-taped spoof of ‘Glee’ along with the ‘Glee’ stars and a bunch of other celebs that included Kate Gosselin and Betty White. Early winners Jane Lynch and Eric Streetstone gave some hilarious acceptance speeches that had the audience in splits. In the drama category, AMC continued its dominance of the Emmy with ‘Breaking Bad‘ and ‘Mad Men’. ‘Breaking Bad’ star Bryan Cranston took home the award for the best lead actor in a drama for the third time in a row and co-star Aaron Paul claimed his first award for the best supporting actor in the drama category. ‘Mad Men’ continued the madness by taking its third consecutive outstanding drama award this year.
Bryan Cranston went on stage and compared the award to a dessert after a meal. He explained that working in “Breaking Bad” was like a great meal and the Emmy award has been a beautiful flambe dessert. He said that he felt gluttonous and added that he was fearing acquiring diabetes. Bryan Cranston said that now he can relax and let go of things for the last year.
Bryan Cranston plays the role of a high school teacher, in ‘Breaking Bad’, who resorts to crime after he is diagnosed with lung cancer. Aaron Paul plays the role of his former student who helps him in selling and producing meth. The show has won great critical acclaim over the years particularly for the acting and the story.
