Newcomers ‘Glee,’ ‘Modern Family’ seek Emmy love
LOS ANGELES — Eric Stonestreet of “Modern Family” has won the Emmy Award for best supporting actor in a comedy series.
Stonestreet plays half of a gay couple in the comedy about family life today.
His award was the first of the night at Sunday’s Emmy ceremony in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards are under way in Los Angeles.
Jimmy Fallon is hosting Sunday night’s program from the Nokia Theatre.
Among contenders are “Glee,” ”Modern Family,” ”30 Rock,” Conan O’Brien’s short-lived stint on the “Tonight Show” and the final season of “Lost.”
