Churni and Mir will star in Michael

August 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The debutante director Ribhu Dasgupta has picked a fine collection of Bengali actors for the second schedule of ‘Michael’. The cast includes Churni Ganguly (who plays Naseeruddin Shah’s onscreen wife Ria), Mir, Mahie Gill and Padmanava Dasgupta.
According to Ribhu, he was not sure whom to cast for the role of Ria, his father Raja Dasgupta suggested the name of Churni Ganguly. Ribhu adds that since Naseeruddin plays the role of a Catholic, Churni will fit the role perfectly. The character of Ria appears in flashbacks throughout the length of the movie.
Churni will start shooting with Naseeruddin shah from September 10 and she is truly excited about working with such an accomplished actor. Mir plays the role of a doctor, who works in a hospital and tries to woo a good-looking nurse played by Mahie Gill. The director adds that Mir’s character has a naughty side to it. On the other hand Padmanava is a funny man who never misses an opportunity to glorify himself.
Mahie Gill plays the role of a nurse who shares a deep connection with Michael (Naseeruddin’s character). Ribhu is slated to shoot for ‘Michael’ throughout Kolkata in the next few days.
