New York (GaeaTimes.com) - President Barrack Obama has apparently approved to build a mosque near ground zero. After a week long controversy it was declared finally on Friday. It was a dinner celebration in White House for the holy Ramadin of Muslims where he decided to endorse this project. The mosque will be two blocks away from ground zero. Also there will be a Muslim community center. There were about 90 attendees in that dinner, including Muslim community leader, ambassadors and dignitaries and Rep. Andre Carson (D-ind), one of two Muslim members of Congress. Soon after this declaration a member of individual rushed to stage and thanked him for this unexpected endorsement to the mosque.

Ground zero is indeed, hallowed ground. But let me be clear: as a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances.

Obama told yesterday.

Despite a strong objection of conservatives Obama directly took on opposition to the mosque-a move which any democratic leader would hesitate to do.

But a recent CNN poll has indicated that 68% of the people are not supporting of constructing a mosque and community center so near to the Ground Zero. Obama has been criticized due to this issue and also for his past remark of tolerance and freedom of Muslims in USA. Though he is endorsing this project, but he has cautioned drawing the comparison between mainstream Islamic ideology and and the ruthless Al-Qaida ideology.
