Yester year’s reality TV actress and an HP marketing consultant accused CEO Mark Hurd of sexual harassment. To settle the harassment charges the CEO resigned from his position. This came as an utter surprise for those who know the CEO as he is admired for his ethical business standards. He settled the matters privately with Fisher keeping up the grace.

Known as the “dependable” CEO, company employers are missing the inspiration he gave them. The HP sources have claimed that the departure of Hurd is the result of the expense irregularities found in company. The inner sources empathize the departure is due to the private settlements with Fisher.

For the investors the reason for his resignation has no value. His resignation has shaken their confidence in the company. The share price of company dropped by 10%, as the news of his resignation reached market.

The company has been in hard waters since his resignation. The employers have lost the feeling of dependency and investors’ confidence has dropped down. In all this, Fisher has told to media that she “never meant” him to lose his job. This statement has been published after the resignation. The statement now sounds like a satire.

Even the concerned Ms Fisher does not have an immaculate past. The movies mostly she featured during 1990s were R-rated. The keywords on her profile were “female nudity”, “erotica” and “cult favorite”. So it is very astonishing that a CEO with a clean reputation has resigned to settle sexual accuses by an actress who starred in adult movies. Can there be a reason beyond and bigger than this?

This is the perfect example of office romance disturbing the disciplines in the office. Even flirting is not favorable for the working environment. Ogling colleague flirty banters or dating - all have been criticized by experts.

The question now remains what about those who are workaholics. Those who have lost the social contact to prosper business contacts spend maximum hours in office. So it’s very natural if they develop affection towards anyone of their co workers.

There are several examples when co workers dated each other and eventually married without raising an eyebrow. There are several stories when boss fell in love with a junior who later exploited the relation for perks.
