July 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): In Bengali film industry, also known as Tollywood, director Pranab Chaudhuri has made a movie based on Tagore’s very last written story, ‘Mushalmanir Galpo’.

‘Mushalmanir Galpo’ is being made into a celluloid version by Pranab as a mark of respect to Tagore, the literary Nobel Winner on his 150th birth anniversary.

The story’s situation is based on the time period when both the Hindus and the Muslims lived peacefully amongst each other. This was the time, when the birth of a girl child was considered to be ominous and evil for the entire society.

Kamala the protagonist of the movie girl is brought up by her uncle. She is then married off to a person called Nityananda. Nityananda, her husband, leaves behind Kamala after they are under attack from an ambush by Madhumallar.

Kamala is then later rescued by Habir Khan. She is eventually rechristened as Meherjaan and thus begins the interesting part of the story.
