GULF SHORES, ALABAMA (GaeaTimes.com)- All the ardent Jimmy Buffett fans really had something big to look forward to when the much acclaimed singer gave a stunning performance at a concert on the beach in Gulf Shores in Alabama. The event that was primarily organized to draw tourists to the gulf although it has been reeling under the onslaught of oil spill, witnessed the presence of thousands of enthusiastic people which turned the concert into a grand success. Although it was being feared that the bad weather that has been lurking in the Gulf might play a spoilsport, to the utter delight of the large number of crowd gathered at the concert, the day turned out to be almost perfect with clear blue skies.
Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band played some of the most popular racks which included “Son of a Son of a Sailor,” “Margaritaville,” “Come Monday” among others as all the ardent fans of the 63-year-old musical artist sang along. While talking about the reasons which propelled him to perform at the concert in the Gulf Shores, Jimmy Buffett had earlier revealed to a leading news source that the beachfront bash seemed to be the right thing that could be done to lift the spirits of the people after the oil spill disaster. The singer further added that he took the decision to perform at the concert after talking to the people of the coast.
The much anticipated Jimmy Buffett concert was initially all set to take place on July 1 but it has to be re-scheduled due to Hurricane Alex. Although the exact number of people attending the concert has not been confirmed, an estimated 35,000 tickets were given away.
