Kalavani Picks Up Well At Box Office

July 5, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Previous week’s release Kalavani didn’t witness a good opening due to lack of publicity during pre-release period. Soon after gaining appreciations and good reviews, the film has made it bigger on charts now. In most of theatres of Tamil Nadu, the shows have been increased and the producers are elated with house-packed shows.
Kalavani marks the directorial debut of Sargunam and is produced by Naseer under the banner of Sherali films. Pasanga fame Vimal and newcomer Oviya have donned the lead characters. Touted to be a breezy romantic comedy entertainer, the film revolves around a happy-go-lucky Azhagu (Vimal), who falls in love with Maheshwari (Oviya) and the problems he faces on the course of winning her heart.
With this film doing well at the box office, the expectations on Vimal’s upcoming films have increased. At the moment, the actor is close on the heels of completing Thoonga Nagaram, a multi-starrer project with Nadodigal fame Bharani, Renigunta fame Nishanth and Anjali donning the lead roles. This film is produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions.
