Andrew Garfield: The Next “Spider-Man”

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Actor Andrew Garfield, who is known to have starred in the 2009 flick “The Imagination of Doctor Parnassus” is all set to edge the character of Peter Parker in the fourth installment of the “Spider-Man” series, Sony Pictures declared on Thursday through a press release. The 26 year old actor would be replacing Tobey Maguire, who has successfully edged the role of the superhero in the last three versions of “Spider-Man.”

Another new addition to the upcoming edition of the “Spider-Man” series would be its new director Marc Webb, who is best known for directing the 2009 romantic-comedy movie “(500) Days of Summer” which was successful in receiving a lot of positive reviews. The new leading man of the superhero series was disclosed at an event organized by Sony Pictures on Thursday. While talking about Andrew Garfield, the new “Spider-Man” director added that although many people might not be acquainted with the young actor, those who know him are well aware of his talents. Marc Webb further described the actor as a rare combination of intelligence, wit and humanity while adding that the audiences would surely not be disappointed to see Andrew Garfield play the role of their favorite superhero.

The fourth installment of the hit superhero franchise starring Andrew Garfield would begin shooting later this year while a release date has been set for July 3, 2012. Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield is creating quite a buzz lately for his upcoming flick. “The Social Network” based on the creators of Facebook which also stars Justin Timberlake as well as Jesse Eisenberg in some of the other lead roles.
