Daytime Emmys 2010 Awards Held

LAS VEGAS (GaeaTimes.com)- The 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which honors excellence in American daytime television programming, was held in Las Vegas Hilton last night. The much awaited award ceremony was aired on CBS which enabled the viewers to catch a glimpse of the star-studded evening and it would not be misleading to say that the event lived up to their expectations. The audiences were kept glued to the television screens as some of the most popular television personalities went up on stage to accept the honor bestowed on them.

All the fans of the CBS’s hit series “Bold and the Beautiful” were surely in for a treat as the show was named the best soap opera for the second consecutive year. Although the hit series “As the World Turns” did not receive a nomination in the category, all its fans were not left disappointed as Michael Park and Maura West, who edge the role of the protagonists in the series took home the best actor and the best actress award respectively. Apart from the two top awards of the Daytime Emmys 2010, Julie Pinson who plays one of the prominent roles in “As the World Turns” bagged the honor of the best supporting actress in a drama.

Meanwhile, the award for the best informative talk show was registered by “The Doctors” while “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was named the best talk show in the category of entertainment. One of the high points of the Daytime Emmys 2010 was when veteran actress Agnes Nixon was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award while a special tribute was given to Dick Clark and his musical countdown show “American Bandstand.”
