Soul man NE-YO is to be a dad - his girlfriend MONYETTA SHAW is pregnant with the couple’s first child.
The So Sick singer has confirmed the happy news to Ebony magazine.
He says, “I am 30 and I do have my first child on the way, and I’m very, very, very excited about that. It’s a New Year’s baby and I’m just in a really good place right now.”
The singer, real name Shafer Smith, admits he recently flew home to Atlanta, Georgia, so he could be with Shaw for her first ultrasound.
His mother, Loraine Smith, couldn’t contain her excitement when she was approached by Sister 2 Sister magazine on Friday (25Jun10), admitting she’s excited about becoming a grandmother.
She said, “She’s in her second trimester… We have embraced Monyetta and love her to death.”?”
