Summary Box: Jackson estate says film ‘misled’
FILM FRACAS: The estate of Michael Jackson says a documentary that hits theaters in Japan on the anniversary of the pop star’s death on Friday is misleading fans by claiming to be authorized when it is not.
SCHAFFEL FOOTAGE: Former business partner Marc Schaffel shot most of the footage for the movie. Schaffel’s lawyer, Howard King, says his client did not claim to have the estate’s blessing.
REMOVING POSTERS: Flamingo Features producer Shaye Sullwold says she has been told the offending posters are coming down in Japan and denies misrepresenting the film.
