ISTANBUL, TURKEY (GaeaTimes.com)- Istanbul is celebrating the World Music Day with an aim to promote peace all over Northern hemisphere. Reportedly, World Music Day in Istanbul shall have several different concerts and music shows being held all over the city.

Istanbul is celebrating the World Music Day which dotes upon the theme of “Muzik Duraklar” (Musical Stops). The musical concert shall be organized by ECOC (Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture) which aims to celebrate World Music Day not as an on stage entertainment but as that lingering entity which has the power to influence one and all human beings. Emre Gozgu who happens to be the director of stanbul 2010 ECOC Agency told the media that he believes that the music that is played on the stage is a secondary issue. What makes this World Music Day event a special one is that this is one such stage where both the musicians as well the local mass would be able to communicate with each other.

The first concert of World Music Day shall witness the solo performance of a laterna at Kabatas pier. Following that there shall be one more performance by Karawane Orchestra which will be held at the Sultanahmet Square. The Istanbul World Music Day concert happens to be a joint collaboration between Istanbul 2010 and the Ruhr 2010 ECOC agency. Karawane Orchestra which is one of the most sought after orchestra band of multinational ensemble shall offer an enchanting performance from both young as well as experienced musicians. Although they are performing for the very first time in the World Music Day concert, the group has already won World Music Award way back at the year of 2006.
