Suge Knight, Kanye West face off in NYC over suit

MIAMI — Rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight and hip-hop star Kanye West have faced off over a beef involving a bullet — with a New York City conference table between them.

The two rap titans and their lawyers met Friday for West to answer questions about a celebrity-packed Miami Beach party where an unknown gunman shot Knight in the leg. West hosted the August 2005 fete.

Knight has sued the Grammy Award-winning West and the owners of the club where the party was held. He says they didn’t provide enough security. West and club owners have denied Knight’s claims of negligence.

Knight says he hoped a face-to-face encounter with West would resolve the matter, but it didn’t happen. West’s lawyers didn’t immediately return telephone and e-mail messages.
