LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- David Hyde Pierce came to the ceremony of the Tony Awards on June 13, Sunday, to receive the Isabelle Stevenson Award, for his work with the Alzheimer’ Disease. Looking dapper in the black tuxedo, the middle aged British actor said, while receiving his award, that the experience was a lot different form the one that he had faced when he had received the Tony before this. That had been the time when he had received the Tony for his performance in the musical, ‘Curtains’, in the category of the Best Actor in a Musical. He went on to say that at that point of time, he had been extremely nervous, a marked difference from the complete lack of nerves that he displayed in this instance.

David Hyde Pierce went on to say that in this instance, he had been informed weeks beforehand that he would be given this award, something which gave him enough scope to prepare for his moment on the stage. However, the most that the actor talked about was his love for the theater, and the fact that he would be back to the Broadway pretty soon, with his new theatrical venture, ‘How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.’

David Hyde Pierce went on to say that he had really enjoyed working in television and films, and, needless to say, has been quite successful too, but that theater remains his first love. He said that being on the stage is what he really loves to do, and that although he has been associated with all three: television, theater and films, the form of acting that he enjoys the most is theater.
