“The Karate Kid” 2010 Remake Releases

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The 2010 remake of the classic 1984 movie “The Karate Kid” has hit theaters in the United States this Friday. The film which features action legend Jackie Chan along with Hollywood actor Will Smith’s son 11-year-old son Jaden Smith in the central characters have been successful in creating quite a stir among the movie-goers who can’t wait to watch the flick at a nearest theater. The much anticipated movie has been directed by Will Smith while the directorial duties have been undertaken by Harald Zwart.
The buzz that the 2010 remake of “The Karate Kid” has been able to create does not come as a bolt from the blue as the flick boasts of an interesting plot with certain parts of the original film remaining unchanged. However, it has come to light that the original story has been reassembled which has further fueled the anticipation among the audiences. The 2010 remake mainly tells the tale of a 12-year-old boy who moves to China from Detroit and becomes the victim of a class bully in his new school. The story takes quite an interesting turn when a kung-fu master comes to his rescue and gives him lessons on self defense which changes the course of the story.
Although the 2010 remake of “The Karate Kid” has been released in the United States, it is yet to hit screens in other parts of the world. In China where the movie was shot extensively, the flick is scheduled for a release on June 22. The filming for the flick commenced in the month of July last year while it reached its conclusion later in October, 2009.
