SHERYL CROW stumbled upon the chance to revamp TERENCE TRENT D’ARBY’s SIGN YOUR NAME hit with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE after she found the singer in the hallway while she was recording the cover.

Timberlake was in Los Angeles producing tracks for Jamie Foxx when Crow bumped into him during a studio break.

She tells Billboard.com, “He was in the hallway. I’ve always liked him. I played (the song) for him, and when it got to the chorus he’s like, ‘Who’s doing the backgrounds?’ I said ‘We haven’t done them yet,’ and he said, ‘I got it.’

“It was all very organic and, man, perfect. People have no idea how talented this guy is.”

Timberlake isn’t the only guest on Crow’s new album, 100 Miles Form Memphis - Keith Richards also appears on a track called Eye To Eye.

And Sign Your Name isn’t the only cover - Crow also tackles Jackson 5 hit I Want You Back.
