‘The Game’ TV Show Set To Return?

SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- ‘The Game‘- a comedy drama that deals with the life of a teenager who gives up a big opportunity to be with her boyfriend, is set to air a new season this year. The series debuted in 2006 on the CW network but was canceled in 2009. BET Network is presently in talks with the parent company of ‘The Game‘, Paramount, for the production of new episodes this year. On Memorial Day, the American audience was treated to a marathon show of ‘The Game‘. It was a good opportunity to remind ‘The Game‘ fans the story so far in the show and regain the interest. The show boasts of a good star cast which includes TV veterans Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall. The show’s cancellation in 2009 was due to CW’s reluctance to have a half-hour comedy in their prime-time schedule.

The story of ‘The Game‘ revolves around Melanie Barnett who goes against her parents to live with her boyfriend. She gets the opportunity to get into one of the best med colleges in the country but lets go of it just to be with the sportsman. Her new life with her boyfriend brings her in contact with other players’ wife and mothers. The women manage their home, their husbands’ careers and even their own professions in this teen-adult comedy series.

The series also deals with the sacrifices and adjustments that Melanie Barnett, played by Tia Mowry, makes in her new surroundings. ‘The Game‘ series is a spin-off of the long running and popular show on CW, ‘Girlfriends’.
