Art Linkletter Dies At 97

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- On Wednesday, famous TV host Art Linkletter passed away at his Bel-Air home in Los Angeles. The news of the death of host was confirmed to media sources by his son-in-law Art Hershey who mentioned that Art Linkletter was not keeping well for the last few weeks and had also failed to eat properly. He added that Art Linkletter was not suffering for any life threatening disease and that it was the age of the host that took the toll. Art Linkletter was 97 years old. Announcing the sad demise of the star Art Hershey said that “He lived a long, full, pure life, and the Lord had need for him”. Art Linkletter is survived by his 75-years-old wife Lois and daughters Dawn and Sharon Linkletter.
Art Linkletter became a household name with his famous shows “People Are Funny” and “House Party” that ruled the television in 1950’s and 1960s. His interviews of children, common folks and even celebrities became a cult in itself. He was known for his ability to coax his guest to say some of the most “darndest” things on television but not with an intention to hurt his young guests but with an intention to make the viewers laugh. Art Linkletter collected the quotes spoken by children during his show in a book titled “Kids Say The Darndest Things” which went onto become one of the bestsellers.
On Wednesday the former U.S. First Lady Nancy Reagan mentioned to media sources that the former was a “good friend for a long, long time”. She added that she and late former President Ronald Reagan both admired Art Linkletter and that the TV host was a great person to be around with for his warmth and optimism.
