BRET MICHAELS’ rep has ensured fans the star will not take any “risks” to get back to work after he was hit by a barrage of life-threatening ailments over recent weeks.

The Poison star was discharged from hospital last month (Apr10) after suffering a brain haemorrhage, only to be taken back into medical care in May (10) after a mini-stroke. While treating him, doctors discovered he had a hole in his heart.

But despite the continued health battle, Michaels is adamant he wants to participate in the final episode of Donald Trump’s reality TV competition on Sunday (23May10), with his rep Jann Elias saying earlier this week (begs17May10), “As far as I know, Bret will be there unless his doctors tell him otherwise. We’re cautiously optimistic that he will attend the finale. But ultimately, it’s up to his doctors.”

Now Elias has taken to the rocker’s website to insist Michaels isn’t pushing himself, and that he has the best people around him.

The spokesperson writes, “Bret is not only our boss but a great friend to all of us and his health is our main concern. That being said, Bret is a very passionate person and refuses to live his life curled up in a ball wondering if or when something else might happen.

“As his friends and staff we are all making sure that he is not taking any undo risks (sic) and we are certainly taking every precaution possible to (ensure) his health and well being. If and when something else occurs we will deal with it at that time. Hopefully, it will be a very long time before we have to deal with anything like this again.”
