90s Style is Back!

May 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The “I-don’t-give-a-damn" attitude of the 90’s is making a comeback. Badmaash Company, the movie starring Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, portrayed this comeback at its best.

It’s designerchas admitted referring to various movies of the 90’s starring Akshay Kumar, SRK, Madhuri Dixit etc to get the look right. In fact she went to the extent of checking out her uncle’s wardrobe to help her get the right look for the cast of Badmaash Company.

In Ameira’s opinion, people today are very free spirited and like to follow their own mind. Hence, they believe in showcasing their likes and dislikes or state of mind by what they wear instead of simply following the fashion trend!

90’s was a time when India didn’t really have a lot of influence from the west. Hence people relied on their own fashion instincts and dressed the way they liked. This was the major reason why there was such a huge variety in clothes then as everyone followed only what their mind said. She believes it was a time when people dressed in other to look hep and cool but didn’t go overboard with it, they kept it simple so that they could be comfortable wearing it. This ultimately led to the biggest fashion statement: being comfortable in what you wear.

Ameira says that the reason the 90’s are making a comeback is because today’s youth doesn’t mind portraying what’s in their mind and is looking for style and comfort.
