MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- It is not uncommon to see Bollywood actors taking up a social and humanitarian cause and hogging limelight for it. Bollywood hottie John Abraham who is an animal lover is associated with PETA, an organization that aims to spread awareness among people about the importance of treating animals in a better and less cruel way. The latest actor to join the PETA bandwagon is Nargis Bagheri who was seen in Priyadarshan directed ‘Garam Masala’ and more recently in ‘Kushti’. The sultry actress has appeared stripped to her skin in a PETA ad that has created sensation for its boldness. She appears on a dark horse in the ad wearing nothing and is covered by her long tresses. This is sure to raise a hue and cry among the so called moral brigade of society who are always busy in protecting Indian heritage and culture and have often targeted Bollywood actors and artists.
However, actress Nargis Bagheri is unfazed about the possibility of a backlash from the conservative circle. She thinks that she has done nothing wrong by appearing in the ad and it will drive home the message. The purpose of the ad is to draw attention to the plight of the cart horses. Her posture on the horseback resembles that of Lady Govida who was the spouse of an earl serving under Danish monarch Canute.
The ad featuring actress Nargis Bagheri has the slogan Don’t get taken for a ride, horse-drawn carts are cruel. She said that she used a body suit and later image manipulation software was used to make it look like she wore nothing.
