Los Angeles (GaeaTimes.com) Ridley Scott’s much awaited film starring Russel Crowe in the lead as the legendary bandit Robin Hood has hit the theaters across the world, and people are unfortunately not happy this time with the fare that was served to them on screen. Film critics have passed their verdict on the latest version of “Robin Hood” and they say that it is a mediocre production when compared to the last film that was offered by the same actor - director combination ten years ago.

The reviews for “Robin Hood” have been bad to say the least. Analysts have not /given the film the rating which they had hoped to prior to the release. They are of the opinion that Ridley Scott’s attempt was ambitious but it failed to draw an impression in their minds. The renowned director’s adaption of the English bandit was mediocre when compared to the 1990s movie by the same name.

Not only in the quality of the film, but also in its gross earnings, Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood” fails to create any kind of record. Whereas the negative costs for the film was in itself a whopping amount of $237 million, the film managed to recover only $13.1 million on its first day of release which is a very small figure when compared to the total cost incurred in the film’s production. However critics are still hopeful about the fact that Russel Crowe fans will watch the film during the weekend and then one never knows there may be a change in the ratings of “Robin Hood”, considering the good response the film received at the Cannes film festival this year.
