Diane Downs Story On ‘20/20′

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The latest episode of the poplar show 20/20 featured the story of Diane Downs, the notorious woman who was convicted for having attempted to kill her own three children. Out of the three, she shot to death one, and left the other two fighting for their lives. The show traced the story of the woman starting from the take of another woman, Rebecca Babcock, who is the fourth child of Diane Downs. According to the reports given by Rebecca Babcock, she first came to know that she was the biological daughter of Diane Downs when she was 16 years of age. Prior to that, she had known that she is an adopted child, but never knew the identity of her mother.
Diane Downs tried to kill her children back in 1983, when she discovered that she could not be with the man she wanted because of her children, who were not wanted by her lover. The incident came to light when she went to the emergency room of the nearby hospital one night in May, saying that she had been accosted by a man in the roadside while driving, and that her children were killed. She also had a bullet wound in her left arm.
Diane Downs gave birth to Rebecca Babcock just ten days before she got sentenced. In fact, she had gotten herself pregnant when she realized that the police were on her trail. Rebecca Babcock was taken away right from the hospital bed, right after she was born, and went on to be adopted by a family.
