LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Chely Wright has come out straight and clear about her not so straight orientation. The famed country singer has recently declared herself to be gay. The singer’s revelation comes just a week before the release of her memoir “Like Me” and album “Lifted Off the Ground”. Chely Wright has revealed to a popular celebrity news magazine that she had not come out clear about her sexual orientation before as she feared that her music career would have suffered a loss due to it. Chely Wright has told that the environment in which she lives is not very congenial to the idea of homosexuality and has shunned it. It was for this reason that she had maintained the silence about her sexual choice for so long.

Chely Wright has said to the magazine reportedly that in her life till now nothing has been more magical than the moment when she decided to come out clear about her sexual orientation. Although Chely Wright maintained that she is the first country music artist to come out clear about her sexual orientations, K.D. Lang the Canadian Country music singer had declared herself gay in 1990s. She had not hesitated to make her choice public. However, it is true that Chely Wright is the latest person from the music world to come out clear in public about her orientation.

Apart from Chely Wright, other persons from the music world who have declared their choice recently are Ricky Martin and Adam Lambert. While Adam Lambert has said that his personal choice should in no way affect his professional life, Ricky Martin has maintained that it became necessary for him to come out straight about the matter.
