LUCKNOW - Over 200 films on moral education from 38 countries are being screened at the ongoing second International Children Films Festival in Lucknow.

Organized by the City Montessori School, the weeklong festival aims to demonstrate that films can be used as a positive medium to educate children.

Jagdish Gandhi, the organizer of the event said the festival has been well received by city cinema halls.

The festival featured films from countries like Japan, Serbia, Switzerland, France, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Argentina, Taiwan, Denmark, Germany, Spain, United States, Iran, Norway, Poland, Nigeria, Madagascar, Finland, Australia and many others.

“Nowadays, one can see that children are getting involved in many crimes like rape, murder, corruption, killing their parents, killing their school fellows. They are learning all this from the vulgar and dirty films. Since we are the largest school in the world, it is our responsibility to protect the children so that we can stop their minds from being spoiled,” said Gandhi.

Children said they liked the healthy entertainment and that it was a good learning experience for them.

“I had a lot of fun here. Felt very good after watching the films. The movies were really nice and I enjoyed a lot,” said Harshita Shukla, a student.

The festival will conclude on April 12. (ANI)
