Ryder Launching Comeback With Howard Comedy

WINONA RYDER has seen off tough competition from UMA THURMAN and KATE BECKINSALE to win a role in the latest RON HOWARD movie, according to a new report.
The Heathers star is set to launch a comeback by playing funnyman Kevin James’ adulterous wife in the as-yet-untitled comedy, which will also star Vince Vaughn.
Ryder was said to have been offered the part after impressing producers with two auditions, outshining fellow actresses Carla Gugino, Beckinsale and Thurman, reports EW.com.
Ryder has not appeared on the big screen since a small role playing Spock’s mother in Star Trek last year (09).
Filming is due to begin in Chicago, Illinois in May (10).
