R&B singer KEYSHIA COLE has been ordered to pay almost $160,000 (£106,666) in damages to an event promoter over a concert no-show.

The Last Night hitmaker was allegedly due to play a gig in 2006 and was handed $15,000 (£10,000) upfront to perform, but she failed to show up to the event, a New Jersey court heard on Thursday (25Mar10).

The judge ruled against Cole after branding the singer’s testimony “confused and at times nonsensical”, adding, “that it appears at times that she was not literate”.

Cole has been ordered to pay the sum to the company, reports TMZ.com
