Green Day Sued Over Picture

Rockers GREEN DAY are facing legal action from an artist alleging the band used one of his creations in a music video without his permission.

The American Idiot hitmakers used an image of a fang-toothed face during their concerts, as well as a music video and across their website last year (09).

Artist Dereck Seltzer has filed a lawsuit against Green Day at Los Angeles federal court, alleging he created the image years ago and copyrighted the picture.

He claims he was never asked permission for the image to be used on the band’s material.

But the group’s lawyer, Don Passman, insists they received the picture from a reputable company and did not realise there would be any legal issues.

He tells TMZ.com, “Green Day received Mr. Seltzer’s image from a responsible company and was unaware that there could be any copyright or other issues.”
