Moviemaker MATTHEW VAUGHN was terrified of telling his wife CLAUDIA SCHIFFER he had invested his own money in upcoming movie KICK-ASS - because he feared they would lose their house if the film flopped.

The director/producer was so determined to make the superhero drama, starring Nicolas Cage and Aaron Johnson, he decided to plough his own cash into the venture.

But Vaughn was scared of telling his supermodel wife about the investment, as their family home would be at risk if the movie wasn’t successful.

He tells Britain’s The Sun, “I did put my own money into the movie, I felt I needed to look the other investors in the eye and put my money where my mouth is.

“Talking to my wife and explaining I might just have lost the house because the film had tanked was a bit of pressure, but I believe this was a film that needed to be made.”
