LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- In a year which has seen the deaths of a number of celebrities, Hollywood is saddened by the news of yet another reaching the airwaves. It has been reported that the veteran actor Peter Graves, who appeared in the landmark series “Mission: Impossible,” has died on Sunday, Mar 14, 2010. At the time of his death, Peter Graves was 83 years old. He is survived by his wife, Joan Endress, their three daughters, Kelly, Amanda and Claudia, and six grandchildren. It has been confirmed by the police department that Peter Graves had passed away of a heart attack. The details of a funeral have not yet been released.

Since no foul play in the death of Peter Graves is being suspected by the police, an investigation carried out by the coroner and other such rituals have been deemed as unnecessary by the police. He had been found in his house in the Pacific Palisades, where he had collapsed sometime after he had returned from treating himself to a Sunday brunch, in the company of his family. According to reports, his daughter’s attempt to revive him by the administration of CPR had not been successful. He had suffered a massive heart attack, according to his business manager.

Peter Graves, born Peter Aurness, had been one of the most versatile actors that the country has ever produced. He is most remembered as James Phelps, the character he portrayed in the iconic series “Mission Impossible.” His versatility came through when he shone in the shoes of the bumbling Captain Clarence Oveur, in the spoof film “Airplanes!”. Peter Graves had also recently appeared in the series “The 7th Heaven.”
