Guru Dead: Rumor Spreads

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Rumors spread late at Monday night that Guru, the American Hip-Hop singer who belongs to the famous “Gang Starr” is dead. The rumor seemed to spread faster than light as fans of the Hip-Hop singer became anxious to know the reality. People started twitting messages on the web which increased the confusion all the more. However, as of yet there is no official news release of the singer’s death.

Guru suffered a heart attack on February 28th and according to reports, passed into the state of coma. D.J. Premier, the other half of the “Gang Starr” duo reportedly twitted a message where he asked everybody to pray for the singer’s speedy recovery. He reportedly said that Guru was undergoing surgery. Along with D.J. Premier, another rap singer Q-Tip posted his message on the web. The rapper too prayed for Guru’s recovery and asked others to keep on praying as the singer is still alive. However, it is on the same Web that people started discussing the death of the rapper.

Guru whose original name is Keith Elam, has along with his partner D.J. Premier formed the “Gang Starr”. It has to its credit many hit albums like “Step In The Arena”, “Daily Operation” and “Hard to Earn”. The duo gained popularity during the 1990s. Guru also brought out a series of “Jazzmatazz” albums in which he has collaborated with famous Jazz singers like Donald Byrd and Ramsey Lewis. The death news of the singer therefore has come to his fans as a shock who are still not sure of what they hear.
