THE WHO frontman ROGER DALTREY has confirmed he asked former OASIS singer LIAM GALLAGHER to join the iconic band on stage next month (Mar10) - but the star turned the offer down.

Daltrey organises a series of concerts every year to benefit his Teenage Cancer Trust charity.

The Who will be taking the stage to headline one of the gigs in London in March (10), and Daltrey asked Gallagher to join them to help belt out songs from their classic Quadrophenia album, but the rocker turned him down.

Daltrey tells Britain’s Absolute Radio, “I actually rung Liam to be part of The Who night, but he’s otherwise engaged.”

Gallagher’s brother Noel, who walked out on Oasis after a fight with his sibling, will play two gigs as part of the charity event on 25 and 26 March (10).
