Simon Cowell’s mum reveals her shock at son’s wedding news

LONDON - Simon Cowell’s mother has revealed she was dumbstruck when her son told her he was getting married.

Widow Julie, 84, was said to have given up on hopes of seeing her 50-year-old son tie the knot.

The shocked mother thought the music mogul was joking when he said he was ready to take the vows with Mezhgan Hussainy, 36.

“I’m shocked. I was the first person he called to say he was getting engaged. He knew he had to tell Mother first. I said ‘you’re joking aren’t you?’ But no, he said he wasn’t - and I’m looking forward to wearing a hat to the wedding,” the Mirror quoted Julie as saying.

The X Factor judge apparently popped the question to the Afghanistan-born beauty on Valentine’s Day.

Julie added: “I’m a grandma already but I never expected this from Simon. He’s just so happy. It’s every mother’s dream for their children.” (ANI)
