LOS ANGELES- (GaeaTimes.com) On Wednesday night on MSNBC News, “Hardball” host Chris Matthews made some loose comments while talking about President Barack Obama’s first State of the Union speech. In his speech with Keith Olbermann, he said, “I forgot he was black.” Chris Matthews was thoroughly impressed by President Barack Obama, however, the long speech that he gave on the President ended up sending the wrong message to thousands of viewers.

Chris Matthews exclaimed, he was trying to think who President Barack Obama was that night. He said he forgot for an hour that the President is ‘black.’ He even referred to the President as a ‘post-racial’ figure. He was moved by the President’s contribution and said he has gone a long way to become the leader of the country. Within a year he has brought so many changes. He paused for a while and said he is “an African American guy” who was standing with a number of white people. He added, the President addressed so many problems on so many aspects of Americans that it made Chris Matthews forget that he is the President. Chris Matthews’s comments on President Barack Obama might have racial tone, but it was a mode of supposedly expressing his admiration for the President.

The lack of tact put Chris Matthews in trouble. Lots of blogs and social sites immediately started criticizing Chris Matthews. They said why can a ‘black’ not become a President. Does being ‘black’ imply that you cannot be a good administrator. The MSNBC news commentator, Chris Matthews is in trouble for making such comments on President Barack Obama as it had hurt sentiments of people. He will probably have to apologize.
