BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com) - For the movie “Crazy Heart” Jeff Bridges bagged the best actor in a drama award in the 67th Golden Globe 2010. He had completely immersed in the role of Bad Blake, the protagonist of the movie “Crazy Heart”, an unfortunate country singer given to drinking. Jeff Bridges attempt to disguise himself in the character he was portraying seemed absolutely effortless. You could almost smell the tobacco and alcohol from his clothes, unkempt hair and his mouth.
The movie “Crazy Heart” that brought an award for Jeff Bridges at Golden Globe 2010 is adapted from a novel by Thomas Cobb. Scott Cooper the director made his debut through this movie that was shot in a short span of 24 days. This award will surely give a lot of boost to the new director. When Jeff Bridges was asked about his takes on the movie, he said, “Life is funny and tragic, and the humor in the movie gets you a relief from the downside, but it also sort of sets you up for the next hard moment. It makes it a bit off kilter- you are laughing, and then heartbreak comes. It is like great country music.”
The 60-year-old actor had never won a major acting award so far though he was nominated four times for Oscar and Golden Globes for films like “The Contender” and “Starman.” He has secured a special place amongst his fans for his role of Dude in the film “The Big Lebowski” by Coen brothers. This is the first time that the brilliant actor got his long deserved award. Jeff Bridges will surely cherish Golden Globe 2010, which gave him the best actor in a drama for the movie “Crazy Heart.”
