Von Trapp Family Lodge Story And Sound Of Music Film

Los Angeles (GaeaTimes.com)- The Von Trapp Family Lodge story was made into the musical- The Sound Of Music in 1965 which was aired on ABC at 7.00 PM on Sunday as the prefect ending to the holiday season. The viewers for the movie are many and so are the contributors to Twitter. No wonder the web is flooded with news of the movie which went on to win 5 Academy Awards including that for the best picture. Julie Andrews, who starred as the protagonist Maria Von Trapp, was nominated for the best actress among the 5 academy awards nomination that the movie had in addition to its wins.

The Von Trapp family’s story was taken up to be made in a musical Broadway- The Sound of Music, which was soon changed into a feature film of the same name. It was the Golden Globe winner for best film, and revolved around the true story of an Austrian nun-Maria Von Trapp- who takes up the position of a governess for 7 children with no mother. The children are soon taught beautiful music by the governess who also marries their widower farther. The family who was once again discovering happiness, is surrounded by dark times when the Nazi send the military to capture the family fugitives since the father does not follow the orders to join the military. However, the movie comes to a happy ending when the family escapes to Switzerland and to freedom.

The movie, The Sound of Music beautifully portrays the Von Trapp Family’s story and had some great songs including ‘Maria’, My Favorite things’, ‘do-Re-Mi’ and ‘Edelweiss’. The film was good enough to be adapted by many countries including Brazil (The Rebel Novice).
