The BLACK EYED PEAS turned their Grammy Nominations Ceremony preparation into an interactive treat for their fans on Wednesday (02Dec09) by allowing webcams to follow them around backstage at the event.
The band agreed to carry out their preparations live for websites Ustream.tv and Dipdive.com and invited fans to ‘tweet’ them right up until showtime. During the chaos backstage, Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am turned interviewer and quizzed the Jonas Brothers and rapper T-Pain in their dressing rooms.
He also conducted business backstage, making a verbal agreement to collaborate with European dance music star David Guetta in the New Year (10).
The hitmaker also answered random ‘tweets’ from fans, and asked them to help pick out his outfit for the nomination announcement show.
Within the first 15 minutes, 12,000 fans signed up to watch will.i.am and his bandmates “taking you places you ain’t supposed to see” backstage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
