The BLACK EYED PEAS didn’t need a stage to kick off the Grammy Nominations Concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (02Dec09) - they simply stood on their table in the audience.

The group performed I Gotta Feeling to open the hour-long telecast, held to announce the leading Grammy Awards nods, and they started the show from their seats.

Band leader will.i.am actually jumped up on their table at the front of the audience and began jumping up and down.

Prior to the event, the band hosted a backstage show online.

Their star-studded opening performance included video of celebrities like Chris Daughtry, Rihanna, 50 Cent, Kate Hudson and her boyfriend, baseball star Alex Rodriguez, miming lines to the hit.

The footage was played in sync with the song.
