Kevin Nealon turns 56

Kevin Nealon, the famous comedian turns 56 today. The American actor is best known as a cast member on ‘Saturday Night Live‘ and his role as Doug Wilson on the series Weeds.
Nealon was born on November 18, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1971 and then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Sacred Heart University (where he played on the soccer team). Thereafter he got engaged in variety of part-time jobs while doing stand-up comedy.
Nealon got his first break through in network television doing a stand-up routine for The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1984. In 1986, Saturday Night Live recruited his friend Dana Carvey, and Carvey in turn recommended Nealon. Both joined the cast that year, and Nealon became a full-time performer in the 1987-1988 season, and remained for nine seasons.
Nealon’s SNL characters include Mr. Subliminal (or Subliminal Message Man), Franz (of Hans and Franz) along with Dana Carvey, Mr. No Depth Perception, the anchor of Weekend Update and many others.
Kevin Nealon, a familiar face to television viewers, has garnered an Emmy nomination for his writing on ‘Saturday Night Live’ where he also played numerous memorable characters from 1986 to 1995.
He’s done handful of movie projects including ‘Aliens in the Attic’, ‘Get Smart’, ‘Happy Gilmore’, ‘The Wedding Singer’, ‘Anger Management’ and ‘Daddy Day Care’. He is currently focusing on the small screen with a popular fixture of Weeds as well as the title character’s voice in the Nickelodeon animated series Glenn Martin DDS.
Kevin Nealon, who stars as Doug Wilson on the Showtime series Weeds, is now returning to host the sixth annual Funniest Commercials of the Year Special on TBS. The one-hour special, will premiere on Tuesday, December 15 at 10pm ET/PT. Aside from Kevin Nealon serving as host, the sixth annual Funniest Commercials of the Year Special will feature cameo appearances to be announced later.
