Wipeout Contestant Dies

A contestant on U.S. TV gameshow WIPEOUT has died after suffering a stroke while recovering from an on-set injury.

Newlywed Tom Sparks, 33, complained of a knee injury and shortness of breath as he tackled the show’s obstacle course last month (Oct09). He was taken to a local hospital and transferred to Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where doctors reportedly performed multiple brain surgeries, according to TheWrap.com.

Sparks died on 5 November (09) after suffering a stroke.

A statement from Wipeout producers reads, “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family.”
